Akuarium Festival Held with Eco-Friendly Theme

Through its theme of 'Friendly and Love the Environment', his side wants to educate visitors to be environmentally friendly.  

 

"Our purpose is to tell visitors how to love the environment, thus products sold, display products, and shopping bag are all using eco-friendly products," he said, Sunday (10/20).

According to him, all merchants in this festival are using eco-friendly bags or wrapper such as using paper or banana leaf to wrap foods or used as food container and glass for beverages.

"We want this event to be held without leaving plastic waste," he asserted.

RT 12/04 Penjaringan Urban Village Head, Topas Juanda stated, this festival is enlivened with games for children that also educate them how to be eco-friendly such as painting on canvas bag, throwing ball, guessing the picture, and snake and ladder games. All of the items used in games are using recycled goods.

Winners of the game will be also given prizes such as dolls and school backpacks that made from recycled materials. 

In this festival, visitors can also enjoy various dishes made by the locals in affordable prices. They can get those dishes by exchanging their money into coupons to buy it.

In afternoon, visitors will be entertained with acoustic music performance, storytelling, and cultural art performance presented by children and residents of Kampung Akuarium.

"Hopefully this event can be held annually and become one of  environmentally friendly educational tourism," he said.
